CIJDC staff facilitates a daily detention program that includes:
School: (Monday-Friday) All juveniles are required to participate in the AEA 267 school program which consists of five total hours of programming per day.
Recreation: All Juveniles participate in one hour of recreation per day. Activities include basketball, weightlifting, ping pong, foos ball pickle ball air hockey and football toss.
Group: CIJDC staff facilitates group discussions, essays, and educational videos in addition to the school program daily. Group topics include: substance abuse, goal setting, respecting authority, current events, prison life, and life skills among other topics. Please click link to view some of our group topics.
Structured Activity Time: Juveniles who achieve level status within the detention program are allowed supervised free time. Free time activities include board games, reading, card games, radio, and television.
Chores: All Juveniles are required to complete various chores as assigned by staff. The majority of the chores are related to the cleaning and maintenance of the facility.
Phone Calls/Visits: All Juveniles have an opportunity to call their parent or legal guardian every day and their JCO/DHS worker/attorney on each weekday (all outgoing calls will be collect). One hour visit with parent or legal guardian is allowed for each juvenile per day.
Miscellaneous: CIJDC staff also supervises all meals and juvenile hygiene.
